The Town is seeking an accomplished, proactive, results-oriented leader who not only has a strong foundation of skills and experience, but also manages for accountability, fosters an environment of innovation and open communication, and deploys current technologies to increase efficiency. Candidates should be especially skilled at communicating with internal and external stakeholders. In addition, the ideal candidate is successful at motivating people to increase their capacities by encouraging learning and development, and managing with consistency and respect. They will understand the importance of public trust and model the highest standards of honesty, integrity and ethical behavior.

The Fleet Business Manager plans, coordinates, and administers the strategic and daily operational activities of the Fleet Division, including the annual budget, goals, and action plans. This position develops and regulates the policies and procedures related to the fleet operations. The position reports to an Assistant Public Works Director.

  • Bachelor's degree in Business or Public Administration or related field;

  • 7 years of experience in procurement, operation, and maintenance/repair of industrial fleet equipment and/or vehicles or related Leadership/Business Management experience;

  • 3 years of experience in a supervisory role;

  • Knowledge of managerial principals, practices, and techniques;

  • Effective and persuasive leadership style;

  • Exceptional written and oral communication, including the editing, oversight, and preparation of reports;

  • Skill in presentation of information and reports;

  • Experience and skill in developing and managing a budget;

  • Excellent organization to manage a diverse and complex workload;

  • Valid Arizona Driver's License.

    This position is an At-Will position and is FLSA Exempt – ineligible for overtime compensation.

    This position currently works a hybrid remote work schedule consisting of 4/10-hour days, Monday through Thursday. Remote work privileges are approved at the sole discretion of the department director; as such, the department reserves the right to modify or discontinue remote work arrangements at any point.
