Siemens Energy Manufacturing Technician Core Finishing 2nd Shift in Gibsonton, Florida

A Snapshot of Your Day

Will be using different tools such as files, ultrasonic machines, and sandpaper. As well as patching cores using an alumina-based material according to work instructions.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Ability to operate the mercurysystem to clock hours and pull up work instructions.

  • Be able to meet daily targetsprovided by team leads.

  • Understand how to operatedowndraft booths to turn on lights and dust collection.

  • Verify part numbers and serialnumbers before starting work.

  • Able to make blue dye and applyblue dye to inspect parts prior to working on core.

  • Accurately use magnificationtools to check for defects and to verify completion of work.

  • Use diamond bit tools to removeDie lines/Parting lines on the trailing edge and leading edge of core.

  • Use sandpaper to sand down Dielines on the main body of the core.

  • Understand how to make thepatch material and when the different consistencies are needed.

  • Able to use pneumatic air toolsto remove tie bars on core.

  • Replenish stations withrequired items.

  • Use hand tools, includingwrenches and Allen wrenches.

What You Bring

  • High school diploma or generaleducation degree (GED) required.

  • Knowledge of or interest inindustrial machinery.

  • Able to perform basic mathfunctions using metric system.

  • Ability to read Engineeringinstructions.

  • Demonstrated mechanicalaptitude.

  • Applicants must be legallyauthorized for employment in the United States without the need forcurrent or future employer-sponsored work authorization.

  • This position will require anexport license from the Department of Commerce, Bureau of Industry andSecurity and/or the Department of State, Directorate of Defense TradeControls. Issuance of any required license is a prerequisite for thisposition. The candidate must be able to work with export-controlledtechnology in accordance with US export control law.

Our Gas Services division offers Low-emission power generation through service and decarbonization. Zero or low emission power generation and all gas turbines under one roof, steam turbines and generators. Decarbonization opportunities through service offerings, modernization, and digitalization of the fleet.
