The role of the RACE Application Engineer is to provide technical product and application support and training, to support divisional sales and marketing growth initiatives for all products and systems, and to provide input to suppliers to ensure that RACE products meet as far as is possible the requirements and expectations of the markets in EMEA.

  • Develop functional, performance and quality specifications, drawings, mechanical models and standard compliance requirements of part, components and assemblies of flow control devices used in commercial HVAC-R applications: expansion, solenoid and other valves, filters, vessels, etc.

  • Develop, Coordinate, and Execute verification plans and tests to ensure product compliance to customer requirements, and minimal project risk.

  • Acts as primary technical liaison between designated Region and all Division(s) business units located in EMEA and USA.

  • Support procurement in testing and validating alternative supplies of products, product assemblies and services.

  • Maintain awareness and up to date information about standards and regulatory requirements of HVCA-R flow control, products, particularly in respect of safety, design, validation, approval, documentation and making. Coordinate processes and actions of suppliers to ensure continuous compliance with all relevant standards and regulatory requirements.

  • Provide technical product knowledge to support the development of commercial documentation.

  • University degree master in mechanical engineering or a closely related discipline (preferably physics, thermodynamics)

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience of products and their applications within a standard driven environment, preferably HVACR

  • Excellent mechanical and electrical comprehension with the ability to understand, describe, and discuss problems of a technical nature.

  • Excellent project management from concept to launch and organizational skills, ability to communicate effectively, and strong active listening skills.

  • Sound experience with Office Suite, CAD and FEA packages, preferably Inventor and Ansys.

  • Experience with product change control process and product approval procedures.

  • Able to design and write technical specifications, reports, procedures and instructions in a clear and understandable format.

  • Fluent in English
