The Northeast Massachusetts Mosquito Control & Wetlands Management District seeks applicants for a Seasonal Field Technician (short-term seasonal contract position) to perform the following duties:Surveillance- 2 days a week & Catch Basin Applications _Responsibilities include:_The Seasonal Field Technician will receive direction from the Director, Field Crew Supervisor, and/or the Entomologist. Duties include, but are not limited to the following: * Operating a state vehicle * Operating a state vehicle along assigned routes applying mosquito control products. * Carefully and following all established traffic laws, regulations and common-sense safety practices. * Setting up and picking up mosquito traps for arbovirus testing in the District service area. * Collecting mosquito samples in an organized manner. * Applying larvicides to catch basins within the district. * Seasonal Field Technicians may also be assigned additional duties and responsibilities as determined by the District Director or Field Crew Supervisor. * _Qualifications_ * __ As a condition of employment, the applicant must obtain a Catch Basin Larvicide Permit, but no prior experience necessary.
