BASF Logistics Clerk in Geismar, Louisiana

We are seeking a professional like you to join our team. Our Geismar facility is the largest BASF shipping site in North America, and this role would serve as an internal customer service representative. This position will be on call once every three weeks and must be in the area during that time. Also, this position is a non-exempt hourly position with overtime may be required.
As a Logistics Clerk, you will
Be responsible for the scheduling of outbound finished goods via truck
Must coordinate with the shipping business unit, customer service and the carriers, all shipping activities related to truck, and meet the requirements of the customer order
Performs those functions required to maintain an active operational liaison with qualified local carriers
Must react in a timely manner to deal with changes/issues in carrier performance, pick-up and delivery times, or plant loading schedules
Maintains a close working relationship with customer service groups and plant shipping functions
Performs other duties as assigned by supervisory personnel. Completes reporting requirements as needed
Customer care skills for maintaining close coordination with carriers, customer service functions, and plant personnel
If you...
Have a high school diploma or GED
Have a minimum of 2 years technical or shipping clerical experience
Have good oral and written presentation skills
Have a CPIM certificationpreferably
