Functional Analyst

Job Description:

At present, we have an excellent opportunity for a Functional Analyst. We are looking for a talented Functional professional with Trade Compliance knowledge to join our team and play an integral role in mapping the business and IT requirements and supporting enterprise-level applications. You must be a self-starter and comfortable in a fast-paced environment. You will be asked to work on a wide variety of tasks from 100% new development to bug fixes and maintenance. This includes working with the business and the technology areas to understand IT functionality and support requirements.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Analyze business requirements and tailor the use of the system to meet those objectives.

  • Manage communications, scheduling, and logistics for Trade Compliance projects.

  • Collaborate with vendor support on the resolution of application issues and system problems.

  • Communicate with external vendors and conduct joint solution reviews.

  • Analyze business requirements and translate them into functional specifications

  • Respond to and resolve system failures and performance issues.

  • Providing end-user support through investigating testing and driving incidents to completion. Meeting the incident SLAs.

  • Ability to analyze & resolve production support issues.

  • Coordinating with different client applications teams for their requirements to provide a common interface.

  • Actively drive issue resolution and closely monitor its progress.

  • Driving and supporting business + IT required reporting and alerts

  • Guide the technical team to deliver a flexible and scalable solution.

  • Resolve complex customer issues by recommending and implementing solutions.

  • Ensure instructional materials are accurate. Provide subject matter expertise and support for end-user training delivery.

  • Identify and recommend process improvements.

  • Appropriately communicate project status, escalate issues, and manage timelines and action items.

  • Participate in project kickoff activities and internal initiatives as required.

  • Prepare process flow mappins, user stories, business requirements, acceptance criteria, training material and other documentation to support the business and IT application.

  • Participate in functional level tests responsible for comparing actual results with expected results, for all projects including the Vendor patch updates, performance testing and regression testing.

  • Develop, document, and maintain best practices, project standards, procedures, application, quality objectives, and 'lessons learned', including metrics for assessment.

  • Analyze, design, construct, test, and implement system or application enhancements.

  • Perform other duties as assigned based on business needs: i.e., special projects, Enhancements etc.

  • Acts as a mentor for colleagues including team members and partners with less experience

  • Supporting code migration when needed.

  • Analyze and research new and existing products, procedures, processes within the IT space.

  • Identify innovative solutions to business issues.

  • Provide support to users and assist with troubleshooting application & business process issues.

  • Provide recommendations around how to leverage the IT systems to improve operational efficiencies

  • Guides others in resolving complex issues in the specialized area based on existing solutions and procedures

  • Serves as an expert in multiple disciplines

  • Serves as a resource for best practices/quality on the teams or projects

  • Often leads the work of project teams; may formally train junior staff.

  • Works independently or in teams as required

  • Work flexible schedule as necessary including co-ordinating with onsite-offsite business and development teams

Business Skills

  • Ability to analyze and clearly document workflows and business processes.

  • Proficient at developing and executing business process-specific test scenarios.

  • Strong analytical abilities.

  • Capable of planning and organizing work and processes in a continuously moving support model.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment coordinating with internal customers to help support and enhance business systems.

Project Management

  • Ability to create estimates and project plans to support the project delivery life cycle.

  • Capable of planning, tracking and coordinating efforts across project team members.

  • Experience managing projects and using project management applications (Microsoft Project, Service now, Jira, etc.).

  • Ability to manage/ self-direct multiple projects and meet predefined deadlines.

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a team, environment including the ability to work collaboratively with internal team/business users.

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and strong adaptability skills.

Experience/Education

  • Bachelor's or Graduate's Degree in business, computer science, information systems, or information technology and a minimum of 5 years of related experience

  • Experience with Oracle Applications, Java, Agile, Cloud, and software.

  • Functional Analyst working with SQL, PL/SQL, XML, and REST API.

  • Demonstrated skill with scripting and interfaces.

  • Leadership and problem-solving skills.

  • Fluent in business process analysis and software development life cycles.

  • Can collaborate with others on tasks and projects.
