A world's leading developer in bearing propulsion systems in Garden Grove, CA is seeking an experienced Welder/Fabricator. This vital role requires prior experience in manufacturing heavy equipment.

The ideal candidate should have:

• Five or more years of TIG welding and some SMAW experience

· A self-motivated interest in continuing their education; is a lifelong learner.

· Experience working with large raw castings weighing from 400 pounds to 20,000 pounds.

· Must be well rounded, mechanically inclined

· Some experience with indicators and precision measuring equipment is needed for our bearing alignment process

• Familiar with materials welded, nickel-aluminum-bronze, copper-nickel, and cast steel in various grades.

• Experience excavating porosity and weld repairing the excavation.

• Some fabrication experience

• Hand dress and or hand blending using various forms of abrasives, grinders, die grinders, sanders, sand paper, files, etc.

• Certified or previously certified to a weld procedure is a plus. Big plus if previously certified to a NAVSEA weld procedure.

· Knowledge of ISO 9001, AS9100, lean Manufacturing principles, and other quality/manufacturing tools.

· The ability to read and understand engineering drawings, specifications, weld procedures, and other customer requirements.

· Excellent communication skills as this position will support and interact with various organizations and individuals.

· Strong work ethic. Must be willing to take ownership, be enthusiastic about overcoming challenges and technical barriers, and must contribute to finding solutions.

Mon. - Thurs. 6:00am - 4:30pm & ½ day Friday

Estimated salary range is between $28 to $36 per/hour.
