Job Overview

TE Connectivity's Distribution & Logistics Teams manage the efficient flow of goods, services and information between point of origin through customer placement in order to meet customer requirements or internal business objectives. They create integrated processes among internal functions such as operations, purchasing and logistics, and outside suppliers. They also focus resources on continuous improvement of the movement of materials through various production processes, and establish key performance metrics and benchmarks relating to supply chain planning/forecasting to measure actual performance against goals on a regular basis.

As a key member of the Supply Chain Team you role will be to manage all aspects associated with both inbound and outbound logistics, Freight Invoice approval process as well as drive continuous improvement within our logistics processes and activities. The position reports to the Supply Chain Manager.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Logistics Responsibilities:

  • Point of contact for general freight queries/issues/escalations.

  • Damaged delivery investigations due to freight forwarders.

  • Completion and submission of Claim Request Forms.

  • Setting up and maintenance of freight vendors on SAP.

  • Update Carrier Tables as required on SAP..

  • Freight Invoicing Responsibilities:

  • Point of contact for general invoice queries or issues.

  • Timely Freight invoices approval management.

  • Manage freight invoice approval process in FIS on SAP.

  • Coding of freight invoices to appropriate cost centres.

  • Spot checking freight rates on invoices against rate card where available.

  • Support inventory accuracy and cycle counting activities as required.

  • Develop & improve procedures and training relating to our freight, invoicing, and shipping processes.

  • Drive continuous improvement activities to improve efficiency and cost effectiveness through:

  • Analysis of freight costs & expenditure.

  • Analysis if miscellaneous spending & contracts for the site.

  • Review of shipping practices.

  • Collaborate with other departments on adhoc tasks & projects including Purchasing, Supplier Quality, Trade & Compliance, Finance and Global Logistics.

  • Support Customs audits as required.

Qualifications and Experience Required:

  • 3 years+ experience in a manufacturing Supply Chain environment (Medical Device would be advantageous).

  • Third level degree and/or APICS, IIPMM or equivalent qualification is preferred.

  • Lean Six Sigma (White/Yellow/Green/Black Belt) qualification or equivalent would be advantageous.

  • Process-oriented approach to work.

  • Strong working knowledge of imports and export processes.

  • Excellent negotiation, planning, and analytical skills.

  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft packages particularly Excel.

  • Good communicator, team player, proactive and strong inter personnel skills.
