Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in the field of the social science such as nursing, social work, law enforcement or a related discipline. Three years of experience in a public safety or clinical environment such as nursing, social work, risk management or a closely related field.

Job Summary:

Coordinates the UTMB Institutional and Enterprise response, mitigation, education, data collection regarding workplace violence. Collects and analyzes data for UTMB behavioral incident events regarding concerning behavior. Assists in the recommendations for institutional response relating to Workplace Violence in partnership with the University of Texas Police Department to work with the entire UTMB enterprise.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of NABITA (National Association of Behavioral Intervention and Threat Assessment) and methodologies.

  • Threat Assessment and Threat Management experience highly desired.

Job Duties:

· Responsible for the day-to-day management of Workplace Violence Program at UTMB

· Utilizes a multi-disciplinary approach across the entire UTMB Institution inclusive of an Academic Enterprise, Research Community, and Large Health System to coordinate data collection and analysis of Workplace Violence/threatening events

· Develops analytic process to input and coordinate data into a single source software solution

· Develops complex reports to comply with present and future compliance and accreditation requirements

· Establishes collaborative partnerships to coordinate multiple reporting and data collection sources and requirements

· Manages the tracking and validation of reported incidents and evaluates their related impacts while recommending opportunities for future mitigation

· Creates reports/presentations and prepares education on workplace violence prevention for all levels within the organization

· Assists with the development and updates of policies and procedures to mitigate workplace violence and threatening behavior identifying people of concern

· Organizes meetings of the Workplace Violence Behavioral Intervention Team (BIT) and coordinates their continued education and function in alignment with NABITA principals

· Leads the awareness communication to identify workplace violence and prevention. Develops training and educational opportunities across UTMB inclusive of Correctional Managed Care

· Regularity reviews regulatory requirements and provides analysis on gaps and opportunities to impact and mitigate the UTMB response to violence in the workplace

· Performs related duties as required.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

· Computer program skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power point

· Strong verbal and written communications skills

· Effective time management skills

· Highly organized with an attention to detail

· Ability to work in dynamic environment and balance multiple competing priorities

· Ability to work effectively with all levels of management, internal and external constituents, management, and co-workers

· Ability to effectively and compassionately respond to persons in crisis while ensuring safety, including appropriate referrals for intervention

Salary Range:

Actual salary commensurate with experience.

Work Schedule:

Partial remote is available, Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm and as needed on occasion.
