Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives Inventory Management Specialist in Gaithersburg, Maryland

Visit www.atf.gov Responsibilities This position is located under the Office of Science and Technology Branch located in Gaithersburg, Maryland. The primary purpose of this position is responsible for several phases of material management including planning, utilization, accountability, policy, procurement, development and implementation, and retention or disposal of personal property as well as Bureau property. As an Inventory Management Specialist, GS-2010-12, your typical work assignments may include: Provide analytical work in managing, regulating, coordinating, or otherwise exercising control over assigned personal property/assets, supplies, equipment, or other material. Develop guidelines, instructions, and procedures to include the Integrated Logistics Support Planning and the Life Cycle Resources Funding Plans. Develop, monitor, and report to management readiness states of identified personal property assets assigned. Initiate planning, provisioning and requirements determination, procurement and distribution, utilization, accountability, and disposal of personal property/assets, supplies, equipment, and other material. Consolidate inventory reports as required and reconcile reports against property records. Investigate discrepancies and recommends corrective action. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications To qualify for the GS-12, candidates must also have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level GS-11. Specialized experience is demonstrated experience, which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform successfully the duties of this position. Experience must be in the normal line of progression or must be related to the work of the position advertised and must be reflected in resume. Specialized experience includes: Conducting monthly analysis reviews to monitor and review the statuses of accountable IT equipment Guiding and directing personnel in the proper distribution and disposal of ATF personal property Evaluating ATF's personal property program and making recommendations for any issues The Career Transition Assistance Plan (CTAP) provides eligible surplus and displaced competitive service employees in the Department of Justice with selection priority over other candidates for competitive service vacancies.
