Job Description:

The UF College of Education (COE) invites applications for the position of Director of the School of Human Development and Organizational Studies in Education (SHDOSE). The College seeks an engaged, visionary, and collaborative faculty member to provide leadership and administration to assist the School in achieving excellence in scholarship, teaching, and service. This is a faculty position with administrative responsibilities reporting to the COE Dean. The School’s faculty focus on human behavior and engagement within organizations such as K-12 schools, post-secondary institutions, and community organizations. The School offers graduate programs in Counseling and Counselor Education, Higher Education/Student Personnel in Higher Education, Educational Leadership and Policy Studies, and Research and Evaluation Methodology.

This position is a 9-month appointment that will begin no later than fall 2024. It includes a .66 FTE assignment during the summer and an administrative stipend. The term of appointment will be negotiated with the Dean.

Expected Salary:

Salary is negotiable, competitive, and commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Minimum Requirements:

PhD in education or a related field

Preferred Qualifications:

Strong written and interpersonal communication skills

Ability to provide leadership and to integrate the views of others in decisions

Commitment to securing external funding and support for program maintenance and development

Successful relevant administrative experience (e.g., coordinator of an academic program; director of a program, sizable grant, or center/institute, director of a department or school)

Ability to organize large-scale projects and complete complex projects under tight deadlines

Ability to work effectively and collaboratively as part of the larger COE administrative team.
