Job Description:

The Department of Pharmacotherapy and Translational Research invites applications for a full-time, 12-month, non-tenure track position at the rank of Clinical Assistant or Associate Professor. The ideal candidate will contribute to a partnership in which College of Pharmacy faculty share responsibilities for clinical practice in UF Health Shands Hospital and contribute to the teaching, research, and service missions of the College. Responsibilities will include 1) didactic, clinical skills, and experiential teaching in the PharmD program focusing on acute care pharmacy practice; 2) maintaining a high-quality clinical pharmacy practice focused in critical care (primarily in surgical/trauma intensive care); 3) providing service to the College of Pharmacy, Hospital, the pharmacy profession; and, 4) conducting scholarly works. The clinical practice is a shared responsibility among three faculty, with this position contributing 40% effort to patient care. Faculty in these positions report to the Chair of the Department of Pharmacotherapy and Translational Research (60% of FTE) with clinical reporting responsibility to the Director of Pharmacy or designee in the UF Health Shands Department of Pharmacy (40% of FTE).

The PTR Department and the UF College of Pharmacy:The Department of Pharmacotherapy and Translational Research is the largest department in the college and home to the clinical faculty. The department’s faculty are highly interactive and engaged leaders in pharmacy practice, education, and clinical translational research. The department has strong faculty in the department’s Health System-Based Pharmacotherapy Division. Research strengths in the department include precision medicine, pharmacogenomics, infectious diseases, health disparities, and the scholarship of teaching and learning. The UF College of Pharmacy ranks among the top five pharmacy colleges in the nation. Minimum Requirements:

PharmD degree with 2 years of post-graduate training (residency or fellowship) or equivalent experience, with focus in critical care pharmacy practice. Applicants must be eligible for Florida Pharmacist licensure.

Preferred Qualifications:

Completion of a PGY-1 Pharmacy Practice Residency and a PGY-2 Critical Care Residency, previous teaching experience (didactic and/or experiential), evidence of scholarship, experience in mentoring students and/or postgraduate trainees, and prior experience providing culturally competent care to a diverse patient population are preferred. Excellent teaching and communication skills are essential. A background in critical care pharmacy practice is strongly preferred.
