Job Overview The Project Estimator will play a critical role in evaluating project costs and preparing accurate, competitive estimates for potential clients. You will work closely with project managers, subcontractors, suppliers, and clients to ensure that projects are priced fairly, completed on time, and meet high standards of accuracy and quality. The ideal candidate values a client focused approach to customer service, while possessing excellent organizational skills and a passion for delivering high-quality residential spaces on time and within budget. Key Responsibilities: Project Estimation: Review project plans, blueprints, and specifications to create detailed cost estimates for residential remodeling projects. Site Visits: Conduct site visits to assess conditions and take measurements, documenting all relevant details for accurate estimating. Cost Analysis: Analyze labor, materials, and overhead costs to develop accurate pricing for the client. Bid Preparation: Prepare comprehensive, competitive bids and present proposals to clients, including breakdowns of materials, labor, and timeline. Vendor Coordination: Communicate with subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors to obtain accurate pricing and ensure timely delivery of materials. Contract Negotiation: Assist in negotiating contracts with clients and vendors to secure favorable terms for both parties. Budget Management: Work with project managers to ensure that project budgets are adhered to and identify potential cost-saving opportunities. Client Communication: Address client inquiries, provide clarifications, and ensure that clients fully understand the scope and cost of the project. Post-Job Review: Review final project costs against estimates and assist with adjustments or cost tracking as needed. Skills and Qualifications: Previous experience in estimating or a related field, preferably in residential construction or remodeling. Strong knowledge of residential construction methods, materials, and industry standards. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, architectural drawings, and technical specifications. Excellent organizational and time-management skills with attention to detail. Strong communication and negotiation skills. Proficient in estimating software (e.g., Houzz Pro or similar) and MS Office Suite. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Strong math skills and a thorough understanding of budgeting and cost management. Valid drivers license and reliable transportation. Preferred Qualifications: Certification in construction management or estimating (e.g., ASPE, AACE). Knowledge of local building codes and regulations. Compensation and Benefits
