Our client is a partner to some of the most well known names in food, food service, and retail. They are a fast growing manufacturing company with 2 production facilities and they are looking for a Quality Assurance Manager to join their team in Orange, CA!

Location: Orange, CA

Pay: $80,000-$90,000 depending on experience

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assume leadership responsibilities for food safety, quality programs, and laboratory operations within the facility.

  • Oversee the Quality Assurance (QA) department, encompassing quality management, regulatory compliance, and food safety adherence.

  • Provide guidance and leadership on compliance with SQF, HACCP, and USDA regulations for plant and processing teams.

  • Develop and revise Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to bolster the company's quality initiatives.

  • Maintain meticulous records of food safety compliance as mandated by regulatory bodies or to uphold food safety certifications.

  • Lead the company through various third-party audits, including those mandated by regulatory agencies, customer requirements, or certifications related to food safety.

  • Investigate all instances of non-conformance in the plant, stemming from customer complaints or audits.

  • Collaborate with the management team to enhance food safety, manufacturing processes, and product quality, facilitating regular product tastings and evaluations.

  • Establish and uphold specifications for raw materials, manufacturing processes, and finished products.

  • Design and implement employee training programs covering food safety, quality, and new product protocols.

  • Evaluate and certify new vendors while ensuring ongoing compliance of existing vendors.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a food-related field such as food science, meat/poultry science, biology, microbiology, or chemistry is preferred.

  • Minimum of three years of QA management experience with a progressive trajectory in a USDA-regulated plant.

Additional Requirements:

  • Possess strong analytical skills and problem-solving abilities.

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.

  • HACCP training (certification preferred).

  • Preferably hold SQF certification.

  • Experience in Research and Development (R&D) is advantageous.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
