General Production Worker
Job Description
A manufacturing company for premium labels is seeking a general production helper/assistant for their rewinding department. This role requires flexibility, as you may need to work on weekends and during the week as needed. The night shift runs from 9 PM to 5:30 AM, Sunday through Thursday.
Responsibilities
Comply with all company and safety policies and procedures.
Attain and maintain all defined job objectives related to the planning and execution of all jobs and quick changes.
Assist in the performance of all external make-ready operations in preparation for changeover activities (changing from one label job to another).
Assist in the performance of all external clean-up activities following changeover.
Clean ink pans and ancillary equipment.
Strip plates from cylinders.
Locate dies to and from press.
Work with press operator to view labels with the assistance of a strobe light.
Comply with quality assurance specifications of the customer and MCC.
Complete quality assurance sheets and associated documentation as required.
Maintain cleanliness of machinery and organization of the workspace.
Work overtime when needed and as assigned.
Perform related duties as assigned.
Essential Skills
At least 2 years of experience in a similar role.
Ability to communicate and interact well with others, both verbally and in written form; a team player.
Ability to read and understand job tickets.
Ability to read a ruler and understand measurements (must pass a ruler test).
Correctable to 20/20 vision (must pass an eye test).
Ability to differentiate colors (must pass a color test).
Ability to input data into a computer.
Ability to work in a team environment with a high sense of urgency for on-time completion of assigned activities.
Self-motivated with the ability to stay focused and follow instructions.
Ability to stand and move around the press area for long periods of time.
Physical ability to regularly lift or move up to 50 pounds.
Specific vision requirements: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Assertive and solution-focused.
Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and work in a fast-paced environment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Print shop experience is helpful but not required.

Work Environment
This position is based in a manufacturing site with over 150 employees. The environment includes loud machinery, requiring the use of safety equipment such as hair nets, beard nets, safety glasses, ear plugs, and steel-toed shoes. Employees must also wear a back safety belt and are prohibited from wearing jewelry. Physical demands include standing, using hands to feel and touch, reaching with arms and hands, talking, hearing, frequent walking, and occasionally climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fullerton, California.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.65 - $20.65/hr.
