Robert Half Accounts Payable Clerk in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida

Description We are seeking a meticulous and diligent Accounts Payable Clerk to join our team in the retail industry, based in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. This role involves managing and processing customer credit applications, maintaining accurate customer credit records, and resolving customer credit inquiries. You will also be tasked with monitoring customer credit accounts and taking actions to collect delinquent payments.

Responsibilities:

• Process customer credit applications with precision and efficiency

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer credit records

• Resolve customer credit inquiries promptly and professionally

• Monitor customer credit accounts regularly and identify any irregularities or issues

• Take appropriate action to collect delinquent payments and resolve payment issues

• Ensure accurate banking information is maintained for all customers

• Handle high volume data entry tasks related to accounts payable

• Utilize advanced Excel skills for tasks such as uploading and downloading invoices and data, utilizing VLOOKUP's and Pivot tables

• Engage in 2- and 3-way matching of invoices to ensure accuracy

• Participate in the month-end close process, ensuring all accounts payable activities are completed in a timely manner

• Apply critical thinking skills to identify and resolve any discrepancies or issues in accounts payable

• Communicate effectively with vendors, including facilitating the transition to ACH/electronic payments

• Handle manual accounts payable tasks as needed due to system errors. Requirements • Minimum of 1 year experience in a similar role, preferably within the retail industry

• Proficient in account reconciliation and accounts payable (AP)

• Experience in performing check runs and coding invoices

• Proficient in data entry and invoice processing

• Strong skills in Microsoft Excel

• Experience in using Oracle, QuickBooks, and SAP

• Excellent attention to detail and high level of accuracy

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team

• High level of organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously

• Knowledge of standard accounting principles and procedures.
