Mechanical Assembler

Pay: $18-25/hr


Installs, maintains and repairs mechanical systems of tomato harvesters and related equipment and insures that equipment is operating efficiently.

  1. Assumes responsibility for performing assigned hydraulic and mechanical assembly

functions on all newly manufactured equipment.

a. Reads part, kit, and assembly drawings, along with work order and verbal instructions for direction regarding work assignments.

b. Align and assemble parts such as bearings, rollers, belts, and frame pieces for kits and complete machines.

c. Maintain cleanliness with components and installation practices.

d. Process all work to drawing and work order specifications.

e. When problems arise, communicates design and quality driven issues through engineering change requests and drawing markups; then back to engineering and inspection.

f. Daily log labor in SYSPRO for work processed in a timely and accurate way.

g. Inspect visually, and through test equipment, hydraulic lines and components to detect leaks, damage, correct rotation, function, and wear.

h. During the build time, at the direction of Production Manager, may direct and oversee hydraulic and mechanical assembly personnel.
