What is the job about?

Grundfos is seeking an Autonomous Production Unit (APU) Manager. The APU Manager is responsible for organizing and carrying out the production of DBS products in the designated Autonomous Production Unit. The APU Manager is responsible for the inception, development, and successful implementation of programs to improve safety, quality, on-time delivery, cost reduction, and employee development. This position is responsible for developing and implementing company-wide policies and procedures in conjunction with other department managers. This position calls for a high level of leadership and accompanying skills. This position reports directly to the DBS Global APU & Projects Director and will operate daily out of the Fresno, CA facility.

Your main responsibilities :

  • Create a safe working environment and ensure through on-going training that employees actively place safety as their highest priority, and we comply with state and federal regulations and group standards.

  • Cultivate a high-performance work culture through facility management activities, communications and positive employee relations.

  • Support DBS group strategy development, Sustainability Index, TPM and GPS Plan.

  • Manage and establish budget in coordinate with Site Manage, Finance Business Parter and DBS Leaders.

  • Manage process and product improvement projects with systematic use of continuous improvement and quality tools.

  • Manage supply chain and logistics activities within APU: SIOP Management, physical flows management, inventory accuracy and SMP management.

Manage People:

  • Monitor competences for the team and develop its autonomy (training plan building and implementation)

  • Lead and manage production supervisors and assembly teams.

  • Lead daily, weekly, and monthly meetings and organize delegation.

  • Represent and encourage a mindset of continuous improvement and responsibility.

Manage Production:

  • Be responsible for customer satisfaction and being accountable for performance and activity of APU, in terms of FTT, NC’s, OPR, OTTR, production SCRAP and improvement.

  • Establish work practices that minimize environmental impact the processes associated with the department, reduce the consumption of resources, and reduce waste streams.

  • Directly responsible for Process & Product quality and efficiency.

  • Develop and implement changes to reduce APU costs through use of continuous improvement techniques and practices (lean mfg., 5S, factory physics, etc.).

  • Validate monthly the demonstrated capacity of APU and embed in SIOP process.

Your background

We imagine that you have:

  • A bachelor’s degree in business or an engineering discipline is required with a master’s degree being highly desirable.

  • A minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in the Industry as a Production Manager.

  • A minimum of 10+ years of experience within a similar manufacturing industry.

  • Knowledge of Quality and EHS Systems is highly preferred.

  • Basic knowledge of SAP is highly preferred.

  • Leadership and supervisory skills.

  • The ability to adapt and respond to change while deciding and initiating action.

  • Proven experience delivering results and meeting customer expectations.

  • Lean Manufacturing and basic finance knowledge.

In Fresno, CA the annual salary range for this position is $107,429-$150,000. Grundfos salary rates are benchmarked and reflect the target for new hire salaries for the position in Fresno, CA.
