UL, LLC Regional Operations Manager - EMC/Wireless in Fremont, California

UL solutions is looking for Regional Operations Manager - local to the Fremont, CA facility to be eligible for this hybrid role - with approximately 10% travel expected.

  • Manages the Fremont EMC/Wireless team with 6 to 8 direct reports and a group of approximately 150 staff.

  • Responsible for overseeing both Engineering and Laboratory functions in the EMC/Wireless Business.

  • Holds a P&L role with annual revenue close to $50 million, with a significant portion derived from a single customer, highlighting the importance of customer focus.

  • Requirements include EMC/Wireless experience, lab management expertise, established P&L management skills, and business management experience.

  • Oversees an entire region for the business, managing multiple Operations Managers, Leaders, and Senior Technical staff to drive significant organizational outcomes.

  • Area of responsibility may encompass multiple sites or a sizable single site.

  • Collaborates with Regional and Global Leadership teams to craft, integrate, and synchronize business operational plans across global business divisions.

  • Executes and continuously evaluates operational strategies and action plans for optimal business performance.

  • Supports overall growth and achievement of financial and strategic objectives for the region and the broader business.

  • Upholds established performance improvement standards to attain operational excellence aligned with company strategies.

  • Guides the performance of direct reports by defining accountabilities, setting performance objectives, offering feedback and guidance, and ensuring policy adherence.

  • Develops and ensures the success of implemented business plans for the department or business unit.

  • Sets budgets for the business, collaborating with leadership to establish short and long-term objectives and monitoring progress criteria.

  • Implements capacity and capability strategies effectively.

  • Collaborates with Industry Lead to formulate capacity and capability strategies, leveraging operational, customer, and market insights.

  • Manages costs in line with allocated budget and oversees team selection, development, and training.

  • Promotes employee morale through appropriate employee-relations activities and maintains employee/team contingency and succession plans.

  • University Degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Industrial Technology, Manufacturing Technology, or Physics from an accredited program plus generally twelve years of directly related work experience and 5 years of management experience.

  • Established P&L experience is required

  • EMC/Wireless Experience is required

  • Experience in Business Management is required

  • Total Rewards: .The salary range for this position is $155,500.00-$176,205.00+ and is based upon years of experience that is commensurate with the level of the position.All employees at UL Solutions are eligible for annual bonus compensation. UL offers a generous 401k matching structure of up to 5% of eligible pay. Additionally, we invest an additional 4% into your retirement saving fund after your first year of continuous employment. We provide Healthcare Reimbursement Accounts and Health Savings Accounts that UL contributes to twice per year! Depending on your role, you can work with your manager on flexible working arrangements. We also provide employees with paid time off including vacation, holiday, sick and volunteer time off.
