Managers act in a leadership role, setting an ethical, technical, quality and leadership example for direct reports and colleagues. The Manager is a CPA and is an integral part of the management team.

What you'll do:

  • Facilitates client engagement and manages the client relationship including billing and collecting.
  • Serves as point of contact for clients.
  • Signs tax returns.
  • Develops, trains, and leads team members to greater levels of effectiveness and engagement by providing detailed review and analysis of their work while monitoring key employee performance metrics.
  • Schedules and manages the workload of team members (direct reports) to promote the most efficient and profitable operation.
  • Contributes to the strategic planning and direction of the Tax department.
  • Engages in business development opportunities with responsibility for firm growth of new clients and further developing services provided to existing clients.
  • Monitors legislative/regulatory tax law developments and updated tax practices that could affect the business climate.
  • Provides leadership in an area of focus and specialization including serving on a tax committee.
  • Completes special projects as assigned.

Requirements

What you need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Bachelor's degree with an accounting concentration or equivalent
  • CPA or EA
  • 5 years of relevant experience

Minimum Qualifications

  • Strong working knowledge of tax law, research techniques, IRS Circulate 230 and other professional standards and regulations.
  • Experience conceptualizing, developing, and monitoring the workflow for tax preparation
  • Experience reviewing complex returns for S Corporations, C Corporations, Partnerships, high-net- worth individuals, estates and trusts, and nonprofits.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Masters degree in Taxation or Accounting
  • Additional professional designations or certifications showing specialization in areas of taxation and/or financial planning.
