Matern Staffing Facility Technician III in Fredericksburg, Virginia

Matern Staffing is hiring a Facilities Technician III for an apparel distribution center in Ashland, VA. In this role, youll be a key player in ensuring smooth and safe operations by maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing essential building and material handling equipment. Your expertise and process improvements directly impact efficiency, safety, and sustainabilitykeeping the facility and its team moving forward.

When critical equipment fails, youre the problem solver who restores operations. Using your mechanical skills, attention to detail, and proactive approach, youll help maintain conveyor systems, AutoStore equipment, and other critical infrastructure.

This is a direct hire position with multiple shifts available.

Salary:

$53,600-$68,600/yr

  • $3k sign-on bonus

Schedule:

  • Morning: 6am-2:30pm, Monday thru Friday
  • Day: 2:30pm - 11pm, Monday thru Friday
  • Overnight: 11pm - 7:30am, Monday thru Friday
  • Overtime as required, which may include weekends

What Youll Do:

  • Perform minor and major repairs on all material handling equipment, including warehouse automation systems (AutoStore), conveyor belts, and mechanical components
  • Conduct preventive maintenance on facility equipment, inspecting belts, checking fluid levels, replacing filters, and lubricating bearings/seals
  • Troubleshoot, resolve, and provide process improvements to facility and mechanical system issues, responding promptly to emergency maintenance requests
  • Oversee and coordinate external contractors/vendors involved in equipment installation, commissioning, and facility maintenance
  • Complete and maintain accurate daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance records.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulatory requirements, and HAZMAT record-keeping
  • Operate computer-controlled monitoring systems for mechanical and utility equipment
  • Perform outside custodial duties, including snow removal, as needed
  • Obtain estimates for supplies and repair parts, ordering as necessary
