In this endeavor, we are seeking a highly talented and experienced individual to represent the R&D function on project core teams, act as a leader of technical excellence, and apply their medical device development knowledge to a particularly strong and focused team with a high attention to execution and quality.
What is expected of you for success in your role?
Actively participate in design and development activities for a variety of drug delivery products in a design control environment
Provide technical expertise and engineering excellence to medical device product development projects while working to cultivate customer engagements.
Generate imaginative yet practical technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems
Exhibit an understanding of customer needs and processes to ensure relevant and innovative product development solutions
Demonstrate technical rigor and creativity, continuous learning and improvement, and alignment to customer needs and value creation
Aspire to and develop toward technical, project, or people leadership roles
Implement technical and/or multi-functional project work
Contribute to a culture of innovation by proactively generating novel concepts to improve product performance or enhance products' ability to address customer needs
Qualifications Required:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Materials Science, Biomedical Engineering or other technical fields of study; Master's degree or PhD preferred.
Minimum of 5 years’ experience developing safety-critical medical device systems, working with multi-disciplined teams
Experience across the entire device lifecycle, from inception, through design, construction, testing, and commercial launch
Experience identifying (through a variety of methods, including observation and solicitation), articulating, and prioritizing customer needs and requirements
Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Ability to tactfully advise decision-makers
A dedication to delivering on organizational goals
Experience establishing design verification strategy and implementation
Understanding of medical device product development risk management methodologies
Proficiency with statistical techniques
Preferred Experience:
Clear understanding of manufacturing process validation including FAI/FAT, development and IQ/OQ/PQ
Proficiency in Microsoft Project or equivalent project planning software is a plus
Basic understanding of IP considerations
Proven versatility and learning agility
Proficiency in tolerance stack-up analysis involving multiple components
Design and execution of user studies
Familiarity with Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (multi-cavity injection molding and high-speed assembly) methodologies
Clear understanding of fixture design including basic machining considerations and Measurement Systems Analysis (MSA),
Experience using sophisticated engineering tools such as Design for Six Sigma or Six Sigma methodologies, Black Belt is a plus.
