Maintenance Specialist

Job Description

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring the optimal operation of manufacturing equipment and facilities equipment. This includes troubleshooting, repair, and oversight on warranty work on utility systems, manufacturing equipment, and building infrastructure in a highly regulated, 24/7 cGMP environment.

Responsibilities

  • Operate, troubleshoot, and repair complex utility systems such as WFI, RODI, Clean Steam, CIP, Autoclaves, Glassware Washers, production vessels, HVAC systems, Cold/Warm Rooms, electrical distribution systems (MV and LV), control systems, compressed gases, plant steam/condensate, bulk chemical distribution, and wastewater treatment.

  • Interpret P&IDs, wiring diagrams, system layouts, and technical specifications to plan and perform repairs and maintenance.

  • Develop, revise, and maintain accurate operational procedures, SOPs, training documents, and equipment maintenance instructions.

  • Provide technical information and support for parts sourcing and inventory management.

  • Deliver responsive and professional customer support with a strong focus on service quality and satisfaction.

  • Support startup and commissioning activities for new equipment or system modifications.

  • Document all work performed in compliance with cGMP standards and company policies.

  • Participate in an on-call rotation and respond to off-hours emergencies as needed.

Essential Skills

  • 5–8 years of experience operating and maintaining utility systems, HVAC systems, or manufacturing equipment in a regulated or cGMP environment.

  • Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and control systems.

  • Experience supporting utilities, HVAC, and process equipment in a cGMP biotech or pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.

  • Proficient in reading and interpreting schematics, loop diagrams, and P&IDs.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, Building Management Systems (BMS), Distributed Control Systems (DCS), and Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).

  • Familiarity with predictive maintenance tools and techniques (e.g., infrared thermography, vibration analysis, ultrasonic testing).

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required. Technical/trade school certification preferred.

  • Experience working independently under minimal supervision in a high-paced, team-oriented setting.

  • Experience supporting utilities, HVAC, and process equipment in a cGMP biotech or pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.

  • Good documentation skills.

  • Strong attention to detail.

Work Environment

This role is based onsite at a biotech/pharma manufacturing facility. The working hours are Monday to Friday from 7am to 3:30pm. The environment is fast-paced, and priorities can change quickly.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $48.00/hr.
