Will be required to help the Grain Facility Associates complete tasks as needed. * Maintenance Specialist Requirements: * Effectively and safely operate standard maintenance tools such as power tools, basic hand tools and basic welding equipment * Maintain and repair facility equipment and machinery such as belt conveyors, grain legs, hydraulics, carpentry work, welding/fabricating and some electrical * Maintain and service the facilities’ mobile equipment including skid steer, forklift, pick-up truck, dump truck, track-mobiles, trailers, etc. * Locate sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation, listening for problems and using precision measuring and testing instruments * Responsible for preventive maintenance program of the facility including logging of PMs completed electronically (basic computer skills) * Follow OHSA safety rules and regulations as well as Legacy’s policies and procedures. Help to develop proper safety techniques * Work with the Branch Manager to operate the facility to the best of its efficiency while being financially responsible and suggest improvements/repairs that need to be made * Assist the Grain Facility Associates in completing tasks such as housekeeping, railcar loading and harvest operations * Facility Associate Requirements: * Maintain an attitude that promotes teamwork and a favorable image of the cooperative * Ability to work well with others and independently * Provide friendly customer service * Hae exceptional communication skills * Possesses flexibility and adaptability in meeting constraints and demands * Ability to read and follow detailed directions and learn new skills as required * Comfortable working in, around, and on top of grain bins and railcars * Must have a full range of body motion including bending, squatting and twisting * Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. and reach work above shoulders * Ability to operate forklift/skid steer safely and proficiently * Working knowledge of the agricultural industry or grain facility operations including experience handling grain from pit to load out a plus * Preferred Experience:* * High school degree or equivalent, with additional skilled labor/maintenance background * Ability to read and understand mechanical and electrical schematics as well as blue prints * Electrical Certifications or background * Miscellaneous Information:* * No direct reports * No overnight travel * Standard work week is Monday through Friday; needs of the business may dictate exceptions to this standard, including overtime and weekends as required * Applicants agree to be drug tested as a condition of employment and will not be hired should he/she fail to produce a negative test * Uphold all Legacy Farmers Cooperative’s policies * Proof of and maintaining a safe driving record is a condition of employment and will be certified and monitored by LFC’s insurance provider You may visit our website at www.legacyfarmers.com to apply.
