Essentia Health NP/PA ED/Hospitalist - Fosston, MN in Fosston, Minnesota

Job Description:

Utilizes advanced health assessment, knowledge, and decision making skills, works independently and in collaboration with physicians and other health care professionals. Provides health care to individuals and families, emphasizing health promotion and disease prevention. They may care for patients ranging in age from newborn to elderly as noted in age-related category and area of expertise.

Education Qualifications:

NP: Master's degree in nursing

PA: Bachelor’s degree in a health/science-related field

Licensure/Certification Qualifications:

Essentia Health Fosston is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider (CNP/PA-C) interested in a 0.9 FTE Emergency Medicine & Hospitalist position. With strong community involvement and a solid sense of teamwork, the candidate will be provided with a supportive staff and motivated colleagues. This high-volume, team-oriented provider group currently consists of 3 physicians and 6 Advanced Practice Clinicians providing coverage in the Fosston Critical Access Hospital Emergency Department and Medical Surgical Unit.

  • 0.9 FTE Emergency Medicine & Hospitalist position

  • Emergency Medicine and Hospitalist coverage will be evening and weekend shift.

  • :Typical schedule consists of 2 x 72hr shifts per month (Fri 8am-Mon 8am)

  • This person will join the provider group in rotations coverage of the ED/Hospital on a 1:7 ratio weeknights.

  • Typical shift on a weeknight is 5pm – 8am (15 hours)

  • Will involve care for all ages; must be trained in Family Medicine

  • Ability to work independently

  • Previous Emergency Medicine or Urgent Care experience is preferred!

The Advanced Practice Provider utilizes advanced health assessment, knowledge, and decision-making skills, while working both independently and in collaboration with physicians and other health care professionals. The APP will provide health care for patients ranging in age from newborn to elderly. As a member of the Care Team, utilizing Essentia Care Processes, the APP works collaboratively with other care team members to achieve Care Team objectives, and to provide continuity of patient care. Position requires high level of customer service skills to establish and enhance positive relationships with patients, co-workers, and others.

EDUCATION/TRAINING:

  • Master’s or Doctorate degree in Nursing or Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies from an accredited program.

  • Previous Emergency Medicine or Urgent Care experience is preferred!

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

  • Current licensure as a registered nurse in appropriate state (if NP).

  • Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in appropriate state.

  • Current certification in CPR

  • National certification, in applicable area.

  • Successful completion of Essentia Health credentialing process prior to practice.

Pay Range

$107247 - $128700 / year

The approximate base compensation range is posted, but the actual offer will reflect our total compensation and benefits package. The offer will be determined by a number of factors including the selected candidate’s experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, FTE, as well as internal equity among our team.
