Sargent & Lundy Lead Structural Engineer 1 – Government Services in Fort Worth, Texas

Hybrid work schedule with a mix of work spent in office and working remote from home.
Sargent & Lundy’s Government Services Division provides cutting-edge engineering and consulting to the management and operating contractors for the US Department of Energy (DOE) and the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA). Lead Structural design engineering efforts on multi-disciplined project design team
Apply structural engineering expertise to the design and qualification of structures, systems, and components
Prepare engineering calculations/analyses, design drawings, specifications, and engineering reports
Monitor the work of assigned staff on technical matters pertinent to project assignments; Maintain assigned tasks within schedule and budget to fit the needs of the projects
Attend project meetings and perform field walk downs; communicate clearly in meetings with clients and summarize meeting notes in a clear and timely manner
Qualifications
Must be a U.S. Citizen; Dual citizenship with a country other than the U.S. does not qualify.
Essential skills and experience:
Must be able to obtain US Government security clearance
BSCE or BSSE degree or similar from an ABET-accredited program
10+ years of progressively responsible experience in civil and structural engineering
Experience with producing engineering designs for foundations, structures, and support structures
Valued, but not required skills and experience:
Multiple years of experience in a nuclear environment (DOE preferred, commercial or Navy), highly desirable
Professional Engineering (PE) Licensure in Structural Engineering
Field Engineering and Construction Experience
Experience with ACI, ASCE 7, IBC, and AISC
Proficiency in finite element analysis software such as ANSYS or SAP2000 or equivalent
