Ellison Bakery Shift Lead- 3rd Shift in Fort Wayne, Indiana

Purpose:

Shift Leads are responsible for overseeing all line production employees and personnel on assigned production lines in accordance with company policy, quality standards, GMPs, and food safety measures.

Hours:

  • 6:00 PM- 2:30 AM
  • Training Required on 1 stshift 7:30am - 4:00pm, where no shift differential will be provided
  • Some weekends may be required

Pay:

  • $17.00 per hour is the Training Pay Rate
  • After training and moving to shift $17.00 per hour, + possible shift differential

Job Responsibilities:

- - Attend and be on time for all pre-shift production meetings - Participation and adherence to all food safety and safety programs - Completion of assigned Alchemy courses that are required throughout the year - Oversee the performance of line production employees to ensure effective and efficient quality inspections, stacking, and packaging is performed to company standards - Assist production floor employees in meeting production goals, resolve complications or concerns, and work side-by-side with line personnel as required - Collaborate with operators on the line to direct personnel placement on the production lines, control break time rotations and violations, and reporting any personnel issues to management - Ensure that all product is packaged in the correct packaging - Ensure that all packaging information is correct - Assist with changing over equipment when changing product - Ensure that all utensils, equipment, and work area is maintained in a clean and safe manner - Monitor automated equipment to verify it is functioning properly - Effectively communicate all relevant information to line personnel and shift supervisors - Immediately report any and all food safety and quality problems to Management

Skills/Work Experience Needed:

- - Must be able to understand and follow direction and pass all Food Safety and Safety courses in the English language (Required) - Possess a high school diploma or equivalent (Required) - Read and follow work instructions - Communicate effectively with co-workers - Work independently; self-managed

Work Environment:

  • Production area can vary in temperature either be cool or warm depending on the season and possibly humid in the summer months
  • Concrete floors are slippery, especially when wet
  • Intact senses of sight, with corrective lenses are necessary
  • Hearing and vision are required in order to be certain that ingredients are mixed correctly and safely
