Public Safety Technology Coordinator / Workplace Violence (WPV) Investigator

Summary:

Parkview Health is seeking a Public Safety Technology Coordinator / Workplace Violence (WPV) Investigator to support the management of public safety technology systems and lead investigations related to workplace violence incidents. This dual-role position ensures the effective integration of technology in public safety operations while conducting thorough investigations to maintain a secure and supportive environment across the health system.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain, manage, and troubleshoot public safety technology systems, including weapons detection, body cameras, radios, panic alarms, and badge readers.

  • Provide technical support and training to public safety personnel, ensuring proper usage and adherence to operational protocols.

  • Assist in the planning and implementation of public safety technology projects, ensuring alignment with departmental needs and budgetary guidelines.

  • Conduct follow-ups on workplace violence investigations, including reviewing security footage, interviewing involved parties, preparing reports, and collaborating with other departments.

  • Provide testimony in court and work closely with law enforcement and hospital leadership to ensure thorough and effective investigations.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Licensure/Certification:

  • Valid driver’s license with minimal infractions.

  • Indiana Law Enforcement Academy (ILEA) certification or equivalent.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of law enforcement experience required.

  • Experience in major criminal investigations and public safety technology preferred.

Additional Skills & Requirements:

  • Strong understanding of hardware/software management, networking, and security protocols.

  • Ability to collaborate with Parkview’s Information Services Department for network access to security systems.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Strong problem-solving abilities and the capability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Familiarity with healthcare operations and regulatory requirements.

  • Availability beyond regular business hours, including nights and weekends, for emergency situations and ongoing investigations.

  • Working knowledge of access control, video surveillance, and report-writing systems used by Parkview’s Police and Public Safety Department.
