Insight Global Data Center Operations Manager in Fort Wayne, Indiana

Job Description

We are seeking a Data Center Operations Manager to establish and lead the planning, execution, and monitoring of mission-critical operations to ensure the continuous operation and reliability of data center infrastructure. This is in support of one of our large utility construction clients that is based in the Midwest. They focus on transmission, distribution, and substation work and recently have created their mission critical data center construction group. This person will lead the mission operations team and manage all operational aspects of the mission, including the full mission lifecycle from pre-construction through construction and project closeout. They will communicate with vendors, contractors, and field employees on a daily basis. They will not be managing the actual construction but will support all operations and personnel involved in the project.

Skills and Requirements

5+ years of experience as a project/operations manager leading infrastructure projects in data centers, energy, or critical facility operations

Strong understanding of mission critical facility construction and operations (full lifecycle...pre-construction all the way to project closeout)

Strong understanding of data center mechanical and electrical systems

Intermediate level knowledge of Excel (vlookups, formulas, pivot tables) and Microsoft Suite

Ability to handle project management responsibilities like change orders, scheduling, finances, personnel, field coordination, & project management software

Experience implementing Methods of Procedures (MOP), Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), and Emergency Operating Procedures (EOP)

Great communication and organizational skills

Vendor management experience

Ability to travel as much as weekly depending on the job site Field background in facility construction null
