Position Summary:
Bridgeway Center, Inc. (BCI) is seeking applicants for our Health Clinic team. Applicants must have good observation skills, enthusiastic personality, ability to work well with patients, and a true motivation to help others in the community.
Medical Assistants (MA) OR Certified Medical Assistants (CMA) are health clinic associates who provide hands-on care to people with varying degrees of health issues. They perform a vital, front-line function in all healthcare settings as they observe, treat and interact with patients -- often more than any other staff. They carry out doctors' orders, serving as the eyes, ears and hands of the diagnosing professional. They report back on how the treatment is working or any unusual symptoms that need professional attention.
They may be responsible for interviewing patients, record-keeping, assisting patients with Prior Authorizations and PAP, assisting patient's with question about their medications, referrals to other departments, completing state mandated outcomes, assisting Providers with daily tasks, and gather information to assist the Provider.
MA or CMA need good observation skills. Important personal characteristics include a stable personality, ability to work well with people and a true motivation to help others.
Applicants must be outgoing and enjoy working with the public, professional, and para-professional team. Have the ability to collaborate and communicate with BCI departments and external stakeholders. Must be able to multi-task and remain professional at all times to ensure that each client has a positive and helpful healthcare experience.

Minimum Requirements:
Medical Assistant (MA): High School (HS) Diploma OR GED OR Certified Medical Assistant (CMA
):
To obtain the designation of a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), the Medical Assistant (MA) must receive certification from a certification program accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies, a National or State Medical Association, or an entity approved by the Board.
Bilingual/bicultural English and Spanish preferred, but not required.

Healthcare Administration (AHCA) Medicaid and Florida Department of Children and Families
(DCF) Level II background check, drug screen, and a Tuberculosis (TB) test. Applicant must be
at least twenty-one (21) years old and have a valid Florida Driver's License with no more than
three (3) points on their driving record to be insured under BCI's automobile insurance policy.
