Defense Information Systems Agency SUPERVISORY IT SPECIALIST (PLCYPLN) in Fort Meade, Maryland

Summary This position is in the Excepted Service and does NOT convey eligibility to be converted to the Competitive Service. It is being recruited under 10 U.S.C. 1599f into the Cyber Excepted Service (CES) personnel system. Positions in the Cyber Excepted Service are positions necessary to carry out and support the mission of the United States Cyber Command. It is in the Supervisor/Management Work Category at the Expert Work Level 4 within the CES Occupational Structure located in the DISA JFHQ. Responsibilities Serves as the Deputy to the Director of Operations, Joint Force Headquarters Department of the Defense Information Network (JFHQ-DODIN). Responsible for command and control (C2), synchronization and de-confliction of Global and Regional (theater) DODIN Operations to include readiness, continuity operations, crisis action and deliberate planning, as well as exercise(s) operations. Provides direct supervisory and managerial support to the Operations Director in the daily management of military, government, and contractor personnel and program operations. Provides supervision and technical oversight to the efforts of subordinate elements to ensure consistent approach, methodology, tools and analytical scope. Directs the development, analysis, evaluation, and provides advice and recommendations to senior leadership on Cyberspace Operations (physical, logical, and persona) in support of combatant commands, service, agency, and field activity missions. Oversees the daily management of administrative duties associated with areas of personnel management selections, assignments, training, promotion, details, awards and recognition, overtime, within the directorate. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications In order to qualify for this position, you must meet the requirements described below Basic Requirements: Applicants must demonstrate on their resume that they have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below. - Attention to Detail - Customer Service - Oral Communication - Problem Solving Qualifying Experience: To qualify at the GG-15, your resume must describe at least one year of experience that demonstrates the competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Experience refers to any paid or unpaid experience, including volunteer work and Military service, that would be considered equivalent to work normally performed at the next lower grade level in the federal service. For this position, qualifying experience is defined as: Experience in Defensive Cyberspace Operations (DCO), network operations, and cyberspace related projects to include justifying or negotiating for resources and compliance with established policies and standards, and providing direct supervisory and managerial support in daily management of division personnel and operations teams. Candidates must describe how they meet the qualifying experience and/or selective placement factor(s) within the body of their resume. All qualifications must be met within 30 days after the closing date of this announcement. Education There is no substitution of education for specialized experience at the GG-15 grade level. Additional Information This position is a DoD Cyber Excepted Service (CES) personnel system position in the Excepted Service under 10 U.S.C. 1599f. This appointment does not confer eligibility to be non-competitively converted to the competitive service. This position is subject to completion of 1 year probationary period for assignment to a supervisory position. Incumbent will be required to report to work or relocate to a new duty location, within the United States, in times of local/national emergency. Employee is subject to recall or call back during off-shift hours, 7 days a week, 24 hours a day, if required by upper management. This position is subject to the limitations imposed by the DOD Priority Placement Program.
