The Ammunition Supply Point (ASP) Supervisor reports to the Installation Supply Division Manager and is responsible for overseeing the overall daily operations of the ASP, Deployment Ammunition Storage (DASA) and Individual Issue of Ammunition (IIA). This includes but is not limited to receipt, accountability, inventory, issue, turn-in, shipping, maintenance, residue and inspection of Class V for the Fort Loberty Ammunition Supply Point.

Responsibilities

This position description is subject to change at any time as needed to meet the requirements of the program or company.

MAJOR JOB ACTIVITIES:

  • Reviews storage workload; plans and schedules work based on priorities outlined in storage plan.

  • Reviews inventories and takes necessary action to correct discrepancies.

  • Maintains close coordination with Accountable Officer for facility operations.

  • Ensures that all the ammunition received or transferred are accurate in quantity and lot number.

  • Oversees the overall cleanliness and physical security of the ASP/TSA storage areas.

  • Maintains ammunition accountability at three geographically separated locations:

  • Deployment Ammunition Storage Area (DASA)

  • Ammunition Supply Point (ASP)

  • Individual Issue Ammunition (IIA)

  • Conduct daily safety and security checks of the entire compound, including weekends

  • Oversees planning and production control.

  • Ensures all ASP operations are conducted in a safe manner and in accordance applicable XVIII Airborne Corps, Installation, Department of the Army and Department of Defense, Safety and Fire Prevention regulations and requirements.

  • Maintains close coordination with QASAS for facility and ammunition inspections.

  • Oversees Personnel Management work assignments, coordinates and prepares overtime request as required.

  • Responsible for all personnel, personnel status, administration and human resource/recruiting actions.

  • Ensures Maintenance of Buildings, Grounds and Equipment.

  • Responsible for administrative matters such as the development, documentation and implementation ASP SOPs/IOP’s/Work Instructions, and document control.

  • Ensures physical security procedures are enforced throughout operations.

  • Responsible for the certification and training of all ASP personnel,

  • Accountable for facility government furnished equipment (GFE), including sustaining all GFE in a serviceable status.

  • Prepared to work extended hours to include performing location security checks of the ASP Compound.

  • Performs other duties as assigned to meet organizational/operational objectives

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS:

  • Basic Ammunition Certifications (Ammo-45,63,64,67 and 68).

  • General Transportation of Hazardous Meterial (Ammo-62), upon recertification (Ammo-37).

  • Intermodal Dry Cargo (Ammo-43).

  • Army Electrical Explosive Safety (Ammo-28).

  • Familiar with:

  • DA Pam 700-16

  • DA Pam 710-2-2

  • DA Pam 385-64

  • AR 190-11

  • AR 190-51

  • AR 735-5

  • DOD 5100-76 M

  • AMC Reg 350-4

  • AMC Reg 700-77

  • Standard Army Ammunition System (SAAS)

  • Enviromental Considerations for Ammunition Personnel (Ammo-31)

  • Risk Management and Preparation of SOP for Ammunition and Explosives Certification (Ammo-54).

  • Introduction to Explosives Safety Management for Safety Professionals (Ammo-107).

  • Must have comprehensive knowledge of supply and services, maintenance and transportation operations, as well as Army governing regulations, policies and procedures.

  • Must have the ability to work independently and in a team-based, highly collaborative environment.

  • Must have strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to interact with subordinates, peers and senior personnel.

    EXPERIENCE:

  • Five years specialized ammunition-handling experience with 5-year supervisory experience.

  • Knowledge on National Level Ammunition Capability (NLAC) system capabilities.

  • Knowledge on Standard Army Ammunition System (SAAS).

  • Possess high ethical standards and demonstrate professionalism.

  • Ability to work independently or in a team-based, highly collaborative environment.

    SECURITY CLEARANCE:

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain Secret Clearance.

  • Must be able to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship, such as a birth certificate or a U.S. Passport.

  • Must be able to maintain driving privileges aboard the Fort Liberty Installation.

  • Must have a valid State Driver’s License with no restrictions.

    SKILLS:

  • Proficient in using a computer and Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).

  • Strong written and verbal communications skills; ability to interact at all levels.

  • Must be able to problem solve and perform research using related applicable regulations.

  • Ability to brief ongoing plans and operations.

    SUPERVISORY/BUDGET RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supervision of approximately 40 personnel.
