The Systems Administrator – Senior provides IT support services at multiple tier levels ensuring highly reliable, secure services are available for each of the supported users. The Systems Administrator – Senior may also provide plans and policy recommendations to ensure system operations, maintenance, and defense are consistent with the best practices and compliant with regulatory requirements. They will oversee day-to-day mission activities and provide continuous feedback to the Program Manager and government representatives.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in weekly and monthly meetings, providing regular updates on program status and customer satisfaction to CITES leadership.

  • Complete and submit weekly and monthly reports to the Program Manager and internal deliverables as required by customer organizations.

  • Support PM by timely tracking, developing, and providing program deliverables.

  • Serve as the focal point for quality control support for contract activities and ISO requirements.

  • Set up desktop/notebook PC hardware to provide NEC baseline support.

  • Provide Vulnerability Management Services for approximately 5400 Windows operating systems.

  • Utilize NEC-provided SCCM reports.

  • Coordinate with NEC SCCM personnel to determine if a patch has been advertised.

  • Repair the SCCM client and WMI client as needed to ensure the system installs the patch.

  • Generate and submit POAMs if necessary to the NEC Cyber Security Division and track/maintain them until resolution.

  • Install and configure Operating Systems (OS) and based applications for networked computers.

  • Troubleshoot desktop/laptop/service hardware problems.

  • Set up user profiles, including email connection and the ability to set up and map users to printers and network drives.

  • Set up, install, and configure OS and baseline applications for server hardware to support NEC customers.

  • Provide access support, create new user accounts, assist the user with the first login, set up email, printers, and network drive mapping, change passwords and unlock accounts when requested, or escalate the ticket to the appropriate supporting element.

  • Schedule and perform software and hardware improvements, upgrades, patches, and configuration in accordance with IA release, timelines, and guidance.

  • Configure authorized copiers, printers, scanners, and MFDs.

  • Configure and maintain organizational Video Teleconference (VTC) studio.

  • Ensure other helpdesk employees are trained and contributing.

  • Manage any weekend or holiday work that allows employees to have appropriate charge codes and time off from the prescribed mission.

  • Manage and participate in new customer onboarding or turn-in processes.

  • Assist the organization with IT equipment logistics, including inventories, turn-ins, and set-ups for mobile devices, computers, monitors, and other ancillary devices.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in system administration OR High school diploma or GED and an additional 4+ years of related experience in lieu of degree

  • 7+ years of technical experience in helpdesk operations/administration

  • DoD 8570 compliant (Security+ minimum)

  • Computing Environment (CE): Microsoft Azure, Red Hat Linux, Server 2012/2012R2, Server 2016, or Server 2019 (a CE in one of these areas preferred)

  • Top Secret/SCI clearance required

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to work flexible hours during equipment upgrades, patches, or other technical network enhancements.

  • Adept at writing weekly and monthly reports on IT government contracts.

  • Leadership and self-direction skills.

  • Ability to solve complex problems using creative thinking skills.

  • Strong communication skills.

  • Ability to critically analyze and understand the systems and communicate system requirements or shortfalls to the customer and leadership.

  • Ability to travel, as required.

  • Ability to meet eligibility requirements of a government security clearance for access to classified information.

  • Experience with Microsoft Office, including MS Outlook, MS Teams, MS Project, MS PowerPoint, MS Excel, MS Word, SharePoint, and VISIO.
