BRANY is also a premier resource for research support services for hospitals, academic medical centers, and investigators, among its other ventures.Support TechnicianGeneral Summary/Objective:Work with staff at all levels to ensure outstanding project tasks are completed and any outstanding or needed information, documents, or work is completed. Maintains complete and proper records.  Ensures proper relationships are established and maintained with customers and others throughout the Program and amongst Program participants to accomplish assigned duties.  Performs other duties as assigned.This position is dedicated to supporting the activities of the Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative (CITI) Program, a web-based program in the protection of human research subjects.  Since this position requires considerable learner contact, the candidate must demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills and professionalism.Duties/Responsibilities:Provides excellent customer service while handling a large volume of technical support requests via email and phones.Records all customer interactions and logs calls in help desk software.Work closely with other help desk staff to administer CITI Program website. This involves enrolling users, updating each institution's information, and troubleshooting user-related problems.Other duties as assigned, commensurate with position levels.SPONSORSHIP IS NOT AVAILABLEEducation required:A bachelor’s degree in computer information systems or a related field.Experience Required:One year of experience with customer service and/or technical support in a call center environment.Excellent oral and written English communication skills and a minimum typing speed of 35 WPM are required.Strong Knowledge of HTML and web-based programs.Knowledge of web-based training, IRB/IACUC processes, HIPAA, or university-based research is a plus.Able to perform in a high-paced and interactive environment, where a professional demeanor is essential.Discreet, resourceful, self-motivated, and able to be a member of a service-oriented office team.Location:100% telecommuting. However, occasional travel to the Fort Lauderdale office may still be required to attend Staff events and training workshops.Physical Demands and Environment:Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time. Occasionally moves computer equipment weighing less than 10 pounds. This position operates in an office environment using standard office equipment. The position requires the individual to see, talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to use hands, fingers, and reach with hands and arms.Travel:Occasional travel to the Ft. Lauderdale office may be required, even for 100% telecommuting employees.
