Description of Work Unit

Founded in 1870, Colorado State University is among the nation’s leading research universities and enrolls approximately 32,000 undergraduate, graduate, and professional students. Provides administrative and customer service support for Doctor of Veterinary Medicine ( DVM ) Admissions and Student Services personnel, and for programs and spaces that support DVM students.

Position Summary

As a Program Coordinator for Veterinary Admissions and DVM Student Services, you will play a crucial role in supporting various aspects of the admissions process and providing general administrative assistance to the DVM Student Services Team and faculty. Your responsibilities will include coordinating events, managing admissions-related activities, supporting outreach and recruitment initiatives, facilitating the DVM Student Ambassador program, and customer service support for applicants. This position further contributes to the overall success of the team by providing essential administrative support to faculty committees, including but not limited to the Curriculum Renewal Committee.

Required Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • May substitute an Associate’s Degree and 3 years of directly related experience in addition to the requirements listed below.

  • Previous experience in program coordination, admissions support, higher education, or related roles

  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills

  • Demonstrated experience presenting information to a diverse audience

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment

  • Ability to work occasional irregular work hours including evenings and weekends

Preferred Job Qualifications

  • Experience working directly with college or secondary students in an admissions, counseling, or advising role

  • Customer service experience

  • Experience with program development

Duty/Responsibility

  • Plan and execute recruitment events, showcases, and combined program orientations

  • Assist in hiring, training, and managing DVM Ambassadors, including hourly approval and communications

  • Manage transfer applications by handling communication, collecting and organizing documents · Provide support for course auditing for both offered and alternate candidates.

  • Coordinate and support admissions-related outreach and recruitment activities, such as pre-vet club meetings and special programs such as, “This is How we Role”

  • Complete purchase transactions for admissions related activities

  • Assist with Admissions Operations, including residency verification and initial review of prerequisite completion

  • Offer customer service assistance to applicants and prospective students via phone or email. · Schedule tours and advising appointments

  • Support Vet Prep and RLC programming, including scheduling, room reservations, communications with students, and catering

  • Provide general support for admissions committee activities

  • Assist in data collection and analysis for outcomes measurements in the admissions office
