Information specific to this position:

PSD is hosting a Paraprofessional hiring event on July 30, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 pm. Multiple positions at various locations available. Positions will range between 3 and 6.5 hours per day. The event will be hosted at Rocky Mountain High School, 1300 W Swallow Rd, Fort Collins, CO 80526. There will be a job fair component to the event from 10:00am to 12:00pm for candidates to come and meet the hiring manager from our participant schools and potentially get scheduled for an interview. From 12:30pm to 3:00pm pre-scheduled interviews will be conducted with selected candidates from this pool. If you are selected for an interview, we will notify you by July 15th with further details. All applicants who apply to this posting will be welcome to attend the job fair component to this event.

Pay Range: $17.16-$19.22 (min - 12% above min)/hr based on qualifications and experience*

SUMMARY:

Responsible for assisting the classroom teacher with implementing instruction and/or reinforcing learning skills in one on-one, small, and/or large student groups. Assist with preparing classroom materials, administering tests, grading, taking attendance, completing paperwork, maintaining files, documenting student achievement, and/or monitoring students.

JOB TASKS:

  1. Assist the classroom teacher with implementing instruction and reinforcing learning skills in one-on-one, small, and/or large student groups. Implement and support the teacher's instruction plan.

  2. Assist teacher in preparing classroom materials, administering tests, grading, taking attendance, completing paperwork, maintaining files, and/or documenting student achievement.

  3. Monitor students in classroom and during breaks, lunch, recess, time outs, on field trips, getting on and off the bus, etc. Reinforce school-wide discipline procedures.

  4. Attend work and arrive in a timely manner.

  5. Assist teacher and/or administration with special projects.

  6. Attend appropriate in-services, building meetings, training, IEP meetings, parent conferences, and/or school functions.

  7. Administer state testing (TCAP) in small groups.

  8. Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND LICENSES REQUIRED:

High school diploma or equivalent One year of related experience Experience working with students in a school setting preferred Equivalent combination of education and experience acceptable Criminal background check required for hire
