U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command Training Specialist in Fort Benning, Georgia
Summary About the Position: This position is located at the Maneuver Center of Excellence (MCOE), Fort Benning, Ga. The MCOE is located 100 miles south of Atlanta, Georgia, and is adjacent to Columbus, Georgia and Phenix City, Alabama. The geography and climate are ideal for year round military training. Responsibilities Serves as a subject matter expert on Infantry, Armor, and Cavalry organizations, equipment, tactics, doctrine, and training product development. Assists team leader and working group; responsible for synchronizing and linking training products with individual. Monitors scheduled teamwork and priorities, reviews work quality, develops solutions, and recommends changes to programs, policy and procedures as required. Participates in front-end and ongoing analysis for new, improved, and displaced systems. Conducts doctrine, organization, training, materiel, leadership and education, personnel and facilities (DOTMLPF) analysis to resolve or mitigate capabilities gaps addressed in Capabilities Based Assessments. Performs training development and management for training products, aids, devices, simulators, and simulations (TADSS), which are used throughout the overall Army training program. Monitors scheduled teamwork and priorities, reviews and provides input to training support products, to include technical documentation, manuals, training products, aids, devices, simulators, and simulations (TADSS) and embedded training. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that demonstrates a practical knowledge of the subject area of the position and of the methods and techniques of instruction, which includes 1) Evaluating, designing and developing instructional materials in support of new and displaced materiel systems; 2) Analyzing data to develop findings and make recommendations to improve training programs and resources for topics such as training aids, devices, simulators and simulations, doctrine and organization, training , materiel, leadership and education, personnel and facilities; 3) Developing new equipment training products such as mortar systems, training aids, devices, simulators and simulations to issue to units for operational needs. OR Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree with a major study in education or a subject area related to the position to be filled, such as, Education, etc. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Instructional Design Manages and Organizes Information Teamwork Technical Credibility Written Communication Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09).
