Nucor Steel Jackson, Inc. Production Scheduler in Flowood, Mississippi
This is a Production Scheduler position with a company in Flowood, MS.
Summary: The role of the Production Scheduler is to schedule production for the melt shop and roll mill efficiently and communicate these activities effectively with the team.
The position analyzes production specifications and capacity data to coordinate meeting customer orders and appropriate inventory levels. In addition, the position tracks and improves material programs including supply chain management and finished/semi-finished inventory planning by implementing forecasting and analytical tools.
Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Duties and Responsibilities: Proven Safety leader and champion committed to a zero-incident environment. Ability to analyze capacity data and perform quantitative analysis to streamline manufacturing processes. Strong verbal, written and PC skills. Positive attitude/optimism/enthusiasm.
Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and forecast operations and maintain inventories. Proven team player that works effectively in a group. Self-motivated, goal oriented, cost driven and organized with strong desire for upward mobility. Dedication to continuous improvement of self, team, and process within department. Consistent energy/work ethic; determination to be as helpful and resourceful as possible. Proven commitment to cost reduction, product quality, yield, and customer service excellence.
Qualifications: Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel and Outlook. Bachelors Degree in business, technical or related field. 2+ years professional work experience in related field.
