Nucor Steel Jackson, Inc. Melt Shop Mechanic - NSJAK in Flowood, Mississippi
This is a job for a Melt Shop Mechanic position with a company located in Flowood, MS.
The Melt Shop Mechanic will work in a team oriented support role for the production process. Candidates must be capable of covering maintenance issues as a mechanic. The selected candidate will be responsible for all forms of mechanical maintenance and available to assist in preventing and solving issues that arise.Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Minimum Requirements: Supervisor and/or Manager Recommendation. Two years mechanical experience in an industrial setting.
Detailed Selection Criteria: Demonstrated commitment to safety in all aspects of the job. Proven mechanical trouble shooting skills. Ability to demonstrate understanding of hydraulics, pneumatics, gas, and water systems. Ability to read and understand mechanical blueprints. A demonstrated ability to contribute effectively in a team environment and promote teamwork. Proven ability to self motivate, be goal oriented, and organized.
Preferences: Knowledgeable in pipe fitting, coupling alignment, pneumatics, hydraulics, welding, machine tool. An Associate's degree in Machine Tool Technology, Certification in Machine Tool Technology, Certification in Industrial Maintenance, or Certification in Welding. Must have supervisor and/or manager recommendation and must be able to perform all essential functions of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.
