Summary: Directs the activities of the Machine Support group, ensuring maintenance of production schedules and adherence to quality standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Leadership and Management Responsibilities:

Recruitment and Retention:

  • Recruit, interview, and hire Process Engineers, Industrial Techs, WAVE Techs, and Machine Support Techs.

  • Communicate criteria to recruiters for candidates in specified roles.

  • Coach machine support department staff in the interviewing/hiring process.

  • Monitor team member turnover, identify improvement areas, and implement enhancements.

Employee and Team Development:

  • Identify individual and team strengths and development needs continuously.

  • Create and validate training curriculum.

  • Coach and mentor department staff to deliver excellence.

  • Create and manage succession plans.

Performance Management:

  • Establish clear measurable goals and objectives.

  • Solicit ongoing feedback and provide coaching accordingly.

  • Conduct professional and timely team member evaluations.

  • Drive continuous improvement in operational metrics.

  • Coordinate and focus large teams during crises.

  • Manage recognition and rewards fairly and consistently.

Communication:

  • Facilitate communication forum for idea exchange within the department.

  • Communicate ideas clearly in appropriate business style.

  • Encourage input from team members.

  • Adapt communication style as needed.

Technical Management Responsibilities:

  • Oversee maintenance management program.

  • Plan technical staff activities.

  • Develop and maintain department reports/records.

  • Supervise planning and execution of line moves and builds.

  • Schedule equipment vendors for installation, repair, and updates.

  • Ensure efficient procedures and work instructions.

  • Offer and implement new practices and processes.

  • Demonstrate commitment to customer service.

  • Lead by example.

  • Utilize Advanced Engineering group for support.

  • Establish new measurement systems where possible.

  • Adhere to safety and health regulations.

  • Comply with company security policy.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering preferred

  • 3 years experience in maintenance management

  • Equivalent combination of education and experience.
