Accountability: The CNC Finish Operator will operate a Double Column Skim and Horizontal Machining center to meet the production demand and ensure the equipment is properly set up and running the most efficiently as possible while producing high quality parts.

Scope and Responsibilities:

Essential duties include, but are not limited to the following:

* Proactively attains a safe and healthy work environment for all employees

* Load and unload mid size cast iron work piece on machine fixtures to run production parts

* Use overhead crane to set up and load fixtures onto machine using general hand tools, scales, and tape measures

* Program starts, re-starts and or rework using G&M code programming logic

* Setup, change and maintain tooling as needed

* Maintain equipment for good working operation

* Maintain oil, lube and coolant on a daily/weekly basis

* Perform accuracy checks where applicable and record for ISO documentation using metric gaging, digital levels and Check sheets.

* Attention to details for parts set up and finishing operations holding tighter tolerancing than roughing operations.

Education/Certification:

* High School Diploma or equivalent is required

* 2 yr. Manufacturing degree or Vocational School is preferred

Skills:

* Hands on training as a CNC Machine operator or Set up Operator in related field is required

* Previous CNC equipment operation with setup and skim background

* Familiar with G&M code programming

* Ability to do set up work - set up of fixtures using common hand tools, scales and measuring tape

* Ability to use indicators, micrometers & bore gages for part inspections and set up.

* Excellent written and verbal communication skills

* Good understanding of metric system

* Overhead crane experience

* Horizontal machining background a plus

* Working knowledge of different types of tooling is a plus
