PRODUCTION ENGINEER - ROLLING STOCK

Location: Tuscany

Role Overview :

• Understands customer requirements, gathers and analyzes technical data to develop and document high quality, safe, reliable and cost effective vehicle modification or maintenance optimization solutions under the Engineering change process. Displays a competency in several Mechanical Systems

• Carries out high integrity validation of vehicle modifications undertaken against industry standards. Identifies and thoroughly reviews and closes out all credible risks, develops and participates in system test procedures or other validation approaches as appropriate

• Participates in manufacturability reviews internally and with customers/suppliers

• Participates in Engineering Change Board as well as Production Change Board reviews

• Provides technical expertise in support of Customer Service, Manufacturing, and Operations

• Provides Technical Support to suppliers based on engineering teams, assisting projects to overcome issues in manufacturing a timely and professional manner

• Manage all documents control, special process, flow charts. Prepare & maintain assembly instructions

• Strictly follow the local safety rules and procedures as stated in the health and safety plan

• Ensure short-term and mid-term scoping, planning and monitoring of staff activities, prospective resource planning and skills management

• Monitor all contract method tasks, initiate and monitor countermeasures or corrective measures if necessary.

Required Skills:

• Bachelors or Masters in Mechanical Engineering/Production Engineering

• Knowledge on rolling stock design/Loco CAB Design / Train interiors Design

• Knowledge on manufacturing processes

• Knowledge of material properties, heat treatment and surface coating

• Knowledge on Rail industry standards for various regions

• Team player, able to deal with people from different disciplines at all levels.

• Good written and spoken communication skills and the ability to present management information effectively in a variety of formats

• Able to work under pressure to meet strict deadlines.
