3DX Industries, Inc Production Associate - Additive Department in Ferndale, Washington

Company: 3DX Industries Inc. is a growing Precision Manufacturing company located near Ferndale, WA.  We are capable of producing a wide range of products using additive and subtraction manufacturing processes.  Equipment includes a state of the art 3D Metal Printing System, numerous CNC machines as well as other precision manufacturing equipment. Job Description: 3DX Industries, Inc. is in search of a candidate who is self-motivated, energetic and pursues high principals, purposes and goals to join our team in the role of Production Associate on a part time to full time basis. This individual will be responsible for the processing of parts through our additive manufacturing division.  The position requires great attention to detail, outstanding communication and the ability to work under pressure with tight timelines a must. This may include but not limited to;

  • Producing 3D printed objects on a host of industry leading additive manufacture machines, metal and plastic.
  • Working with .stl files in 3D slicer software programs
  • Processing the models once they have been built on the 3D printer. This includes, but is not limited to, removing support material, inspecting parts for build defects and abnormalities, fixing broken models, preparing necessary paperwork for shipping, packaging and inspecting order for accuracy.
  • Assembling a product or components of a product and finishing the product through de-burring, sanding, trimming, polishing and other processes. Will perform all tasks in the additive manufacturing process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Schedule print jobs to 3D Printers utilizing Print Manager software.
  • Remove printed jobs from 3D printers and perform immediate post build operations.
  • Operate various Additive machines (3D printers)
  • Remove Support material and structures for 3D printed models
  • Load machines with additive material and post process material to recycle for the next build
  • Prepare machine for builds by cleaning machine post build and perform preventative maintenance.
  • Remove build from 3D printers.
  • Remove Support structures from 3D models using, hand tools, grinders, chisels, and sanders
  • Finish parts as per customer requirements, including deburring, grinding, polishing, sanding etc.
  • Inspect, package, and ship orders when completed.
  • Maintain good shop hygiene by regularly organizing and cleaning tools and shop spaces.
  • Communicate order details and non-conformance to department supervisor.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or General Education (GED)required.
  • 1-2 years of demonstrated success in a similar role is preferred
  • Experience in design for manufacturing and assembly techniques preferred
  • Knowledge of 3D Slicer Software
  • Attention to detail is a must
  • Experience with hand held tools
  • Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs.
  • Willingness to be flexible and apply new programs and technology.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Solid problem-solving skills/techniques.
  • Able to multi-task and manage multiple projects.
  • Able to manage sensitive and confidential information.
  • Self-motivated and able to take responsibility.
  • Ability to read & write English
  • Experience reading work orders & part drawings
  • Ability to work unsupervised as well as in a team environment
  • Comfortable working in a fast paced, deadline-driven environment
