Who are we looking for?The Environment, Health & Safety Specialist is an integral role at the Ferndale, Michigan site. The role will be responsible for supporting the EHS Manager by providing full cycle Health & Safety support across the business. The EHS Specialist will have responsibility for providing guidance to specific projects in addition to discharging their duties required to ensure compliance with health & safety legislation. What will you be doing?Assisting the EHS Manager with the following: Hazardous waste program14001 Environmental Management SystemPreparing process safety management and risk management plansHAZWOPER spill response teamOSHA or equivalent programsPrevent and reduce spill, injury and emergency response incidentsDevelop, conduct and document safety, health and environmental training programsEnsure that all EH&S control, monitoring, record keeping and reporting requirements are satisfied and maintain appropriate documentationAssist in the preparation of all federal, state and provincial regulatory EH&S reporting and permitting submittalsOnsite wastewater treatmentWho are You?Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or related fieldPrevious experience of working in a manufacturing / industrial setting.Comprehensive knowledge of OSHA / MIOSHA StandardsExperience of carrying out and documenting risk assessmentsExperience in environmental managementProficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Lotus Notes.Excellent oral, written and presentation skills required.
