Primary Function
Responsible for budgeting, reporting, and analysis of the financial results of 2 business segments, SG&A budgeting and analysis, providing financial support to the A. O. Smith New Product Development process, and providing support and reporting assistance to the manufacturing locations.
Responsibilities
Coordinate the US Selling & General Administration & Engineering expense budgeting process with department head -Vice President (80 departments, 15-20 department heads,$100M spend).
Provide high-level walk-forwards to assist leadership in understanding the change in spending and headcount.
Budget, report, and analyze Wholesale SBU financial results.
Budget, report, and analyze Export SBU financial results.
Support plants with individual budgeting and reporting (plan templates, plan pre-views etc), consolidate plant variances and develop high level comments, and provide analysis for inventory and conversion cost.
Coordinate various performance excellence projects within the Finance area.
Support the A. O. Smith New Product Development process by providing financial analyses (P and L impact, balance sheet impact, cash flow, PAR index, payback, other as needed) for specific projects.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in business, accounting, finance, or related discipline
5+ years of financial experience or exposure to accounting systems
Additional Qualifications:
Adept at report model development and being able to interpret and summarize data
Working knowledge of financial and accounting systems – SAP BI/BPC experience a plus
Strong attention to detail and high organization skills
Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel, PowerPoint
Tableau experience a plus
Strong communication both orally and written
Ability to work with and maintain the integrity of confidential information
Ability to work independently and as a team to meet strict deadlines while balancing priorities
Good interpersonal and influencing skills
Experience in a manufacturing company a plus
Education
Baccalaureate in Finance or Related Field
