Who We Want

Miller Industries is seeking a Painter/Powdercoater for our Paint Department on our 1st Shift. The hours are 6 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday - Thursday, with overtime as required for production on Fridays and weekends. In this role, you will be a member of our Paint Team that is responsible for painting and powdercoating parts for conveyor systems, stairs, platforms, and baggage handling systems.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Paints and uses powder operations to properly prepare components that may include sub-assemblies and all other related components in order to contribute to completion of a variety of products.
  • Adheres to quality and quantity standards and follows directions to meet part specifications.
  • Requires use of proper respirators and other equipment as necessary in the paint booth area.
  • Paint units according to bill of material specification.
  • Perform required maintenance on paint gun and related equipment.
  • Scrape waste powder from bottom of filters using empty powder coat boxes.
  • Ability to adjust powder coat paint equipment for different paint applications.
  • Understand and adhere to OSHA regulations in regards to handling, using and storing paint.
  • Act as backup to any employee in the Paint Department.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What Requirements Are Needed

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Experience in manual labor, skilled trades, construction, or manufacturing positions.
  • Ability to multi-task various projects with high level of detail.
  • Experience using hand tools and measuring devices.
  • Must be able to demonstrate ability to follow directions, produce quality work, and maintain safe work environment.
  • Team player who can also perform without supervision.
  • Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and be clean shaven as needed to wear a respirator which involves successful completion of a medical evaluation/fit test.

Physical & Mental Requirements

The job is performed in a manufacturing setting regularly exposed to the following: noise, fumes, dirt, heat, sparks, smoke, dust, vibration, grease, moving objects/parts. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required. Work may include exposure to hazardous chemicals. Inside working conditions with exposure to hot and cold conditions.
