Who We Want

We are currently seeking a *Cost Estimator *to work in our Miller Fabricated Systems Division at our Thompson Road location in Fenton, MI.

 

What You Will Be Doing

  • Create material take-offs and estimates for all new steel fabrication opportunities to determine costs including but not limited to structural steel and conveyor projects utilizing OEM provided bid specs and misc. build to print fabrication.
  • Review project bid documents with internal estimating group to ensure accuracy and timeliness of quotes.
  • Ensure that the policies and procedures of the company are carried out in a manner consistent with the goals and objectives, as set forth by Executive Management.
  • Support of project management and estimating of change orders as needed.
  • Study and keep current with programs, manufacturing processes and technical developments in all industrial markets.
  • Identify and ensure raw material and sub-contractor pricing is up to date before issuing costing to Sales.
  • Coordinate with engineering, production, and management to cost all None-Core opportunities.
  • Perform other duties and tasks as may be assigned from time to time by the Estimating Manager.
  • Follow-up with "After Build" budgets to ensure accuracy of estimate through completion of project and apply past/previous project performance to current active estimates.

What Requirements Are Needed

Minimum: Associate's Degree or Technical Degree related discipline, required from an accredited college or university. Equivalent experience considered.

 

[]{#_Hlk71293866}Prefer four to five years of concurrent estimating experience, in addition to 3 to 5 years of experience in production.  Experience with design / build structural steel and conveyor projects is STRONGLY desired.  Equivalent experience considered.
