Job Overview:
Control and instrumentation design and engineering. Work includes producing instrument indexes and I/O lists, tagging and P&ID and package documentation review.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
Undertake activities and tasks assigned by the Lead Engineer with minimal or no supervision and guidance. These will typically comprise of:
Management of Instrument database (SPI / AVEVA Instrumentation) including use of the index, datasheets, wiring, admin and import utilities.
Preparation, checking and approval of specifications, indexes, design drawings, studies and general control and instrumentation documentation.
Tagging and review of P&IDs.
Review and checking of third-party supplier drawings and documentation for all types of instrumentation and control system equipment.
Developing MTOs.
Interface with third parties including clients and suppliers.
Supervision, support and guidance of subordinate engineers and designers including within high value centres.
Engineering support during construction and commissioning phase activities.
Essential Qualifications and Education:
Preferably engineering degree.
Typically 6+ years of relevant experience.
Good working knowledge of Excel, Access and preferably SQL.
Awareness of the detail design engineering process.
Experience in petrochemical or related industries.
Supervision of engineers and designers within the control and instrumentation discipline is preferable.
Liaison with project management and other engineering departments within a project team
