As a Drainage Engineer, you will be leading and mentoring engineers/designers and collaborating with our other design centers to provide drainage and water resources engineering expertise and designs for design/build and other alternative delivery projects across North America. Location

This role will be based out of our Bellevue, WA office location with flexibility to work out of our Federal Way, WA location.

Responsibilities

  • Completing engineering assignments in support of civil design build projects that includes drainage design, detailed hydrologic and hydraulic analysis (using various models and methods), preparation of design plans, reports and technical memoranda.

  • Oversee/create preliminary design concepts and alternatives for drainage designs, quality control reviews, and ensuring corrections are completed

  • Execute specifications, estimates and drainage design development

  • Develop project communications on status of designs/analysis, lead/attend project technical meetings and provide coordination to resolve design issues

  • Mentoring of junior staff to promote staff development through training, mentoring, and career planning

Qualifications

  • BS or MS in Civil Engineering, Water Resources (or similar field),

  • EIT with total of 3+ years of experience in drainage design, water resources, hydraulics, hydraulics or hydrology in transportation or land development.

  • Experience with development of drainage plans, profiles, specs and estimates for either transportation, water resources or land development projects.

  • Fish Stream Design experience is a plus.

  • WSDOT experience with Storm water (water quality & runoff control), and temporary drainage and erosion control design during construction required.

  • Software experience in Drainage design which may include some or all of the following: HEC-RAS, HEC-GEORAS, HY-8, CulvertMaster, StormCAD, CivilStorm, PondPack, FlowMaster, HEC-HMS, SWMM, HydroCAD, Microstation (OpenRoads), AutoCAD Civil 3D; 2D experience helpful such as SRH-2D, FLO-2D.

  • Must have strong written/verbal communication skills

  • Willingness to travel to project sites and other Kiewit offices as needed.

Base Compensation: $95,000 - $108,000

(Actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as education, experience, skillset, and/or location)
