Then join the Department of Conservation and Natural Resource's Michaux State Forest and assist in wildfire prevention, suppression, and investigations. DESCRIPTION OF WORK The main responsibility of this role involves preventing and suppressing wildfires, as well as conducting investigations. Additionally, you will support the maintenance of vehicles, facilities, and grounds in forest district 1. You will play a crucial role in assisting the wildfire program and the pre-suppression program, which includes organizing, training, and equipping personnel from the bureau of forestry, volunteer fire companies, fire wardens, and volunteer wildland crews. It will also be your responsibility to ensure that all assigned vehicles, tools, equipment, and communication devices are well-maintained and ready for wildfire response.

Work Schedule and Additional Information: Seasonal full-time employment without benefits. The season runs from approximately March until November at which the employee is placed on leave without pay. Work hours are 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. This position may require overtime in emergency situations such as wildfire suppression. Fire duty will also be expected on weekends. You will receive further communication regarding this position via email. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Three months of experience in forest fire suppression or pre-suppression work and such training as may have been gained through completion of the eighth school grade; or Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

Special Requirement:

Possession of a valid motor vehicle operator's license. Other Requirements: You must meet the PA residency requirement.
